割缝电极电火花加工极间流场仿真及其对加工效果的影响

摘要:非回转体电极内冲液式电火花加工是加工导电材料异形腔槽的有效加工方式。该方式提高了加工效率,但容易在工件型腔底部产生较大残余料柱,影响加工质量,为解决此问题,提出了割缝电极电火花加工技术。以矩形块状电极为研究对象,设计了直缝电极与斜缝电极;利用计算流体力学软件Fluent 2019 R2分别对两种电极进行极间流场仿真分析,研究两种电极对极间工作液流速的影响;进行电火花加工对比试验,对比直缝电极、斜缝电极、实体电极在相同电参数下的加工性能。试验结果表明:两种割缝电极的加工效率较实体电极都有了较大提升,直缝电极的材料去除率提高了52.9%,斜缝电极提高了50.6%;相比于实体电极,直缝电极与斜缝电极加工能获得更小的工件型腔底面圆角半径。

Flow Field Simulation and Experimental Result of Slotted 
Electrode Electrical Discharge Machining

Abstract:In Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM),specialshaped cavities and grooves are usually processed by nonrotational electrode with inner flushing.This method improves the processing efficiency,but it is easy to produce large residual material column at the bottom of the cavity,which affects the processing quality.To solve this problem,the slotted electrode EDM technology is proposed.In this paper,the rectangular block electrode is the research object,the straight slot electrode and the inclined slot electrode are designed.Then,the computational fluid dynamics software Fluent 2019 R2 is used to simulate the gap flow field between the two electrodes.Finally,comparative experiments of EDM are carried out to compare the effects of straight slot electrode,inclined slot electrode and solid electrode on EDM performance under the same electrical parameters.The results show that compared with the solid electrode,the Material Removal Rate (MRR) of the straight slotted electrode is increased by 54.9%,the inclined slot electrode is increased by 52.5%,and compared with the solid electrode,a smaller fillet radius between the side and the bottom of the workpiece cavity can be gotten by the straight slot electrode and the inclined slot electrode.
